Local Safety Networks are an invaluable source of local information and offer support for all business people with an interest in health and safety in the workplace. There are many Groups operating in East Anglia, some specialise in certain industries others offer a more general approach.
A list of all the Safety Groups UK can be found on the RoSPA Occupational Safety website.
Acer Safety Services have always supported the Suffolk and North Essex Occupational Safety Group and actively work with the Group. This local community group is a registered charity and has been offering support since 1945.
Suffolk Advanced Motorcycle Group
Andre is a keen motorcyclist and passionate about motorcyclists safety. He has close links with the local Suffolk Advanced Motorcycle Group (SAM). As a National Observer for the group he prepares motorcyclists ready for their IAM Advanced Motorcycle Assessment. He also assesses Observers training to become accredited to the IMI standard.
The Group attends a wide range of local events to promote the 'skills for life' programme and the Suffolk Police Bike Safe events. The East Anglian branch of IOSH won the 2014 Rob Strange Award for a motorcycle ride organised by Andre. The ride around Suffolk offered a chance to bring together riders from the health and safety community and raised money for East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Off road riding or 'green lane' riding is also a hobby, allowing bikes to be used to get to places that 'others can't reach'.
