After 30 years experience working in mechanical engineering, telecoms, facilities management and construction at all levels I have worked for and with some fantastic people.
For the last fifteen years I've worked as a H&S professional at the prestigious BT Research and Development establishment in Ipswich and other corporate bodies. During this time I was involved in developing and delivering and improving safety strategies, management of safe systems, advising on best practice and training people at all levels to IOSH, NEBOSH and CIEH standards.
Working with Directors and senior managers through to managers, operatives, technicians and other safety professionals I have developed a wide range of skills enabling me to build, communicate and advise clearly on many aspects relating to Health and Safety. Most recently I have worked with Monteray, delivering full facilities management including property services throughout the BT estate. Regulatory changes during this time required review and development of many new systems including asbestos and working at height.
Keeping up to date with regulatory changes and maintaining levels of competency with regulatory bodies such as NEBOSH, BSC and CSCS is a serious professional undertaking on my part. It is important that businesses maintain robust systems for H&S my aim is to help corporate and smaller businesses to protect their employees and their business.

With a background in heavy mechanical and foundry engineering Toolmaker I was introduced to H&S as a Union Safety Rep. Initially specialising in safety technology and emergency management I developed a practical approach based on skills and experience.
I became and independent health and safety advisor and trainer following 16 years of direct H&S service in Facilities Management and Research on a large Advanced Technology Science Park. Over the past three years I have provided services for West Suffolk College, Suffolk County Council, Ipswich Borough Council, Suffolk College, Felixstowe Docks and delivered Training through Oaktree Management and Training, Safety Boss and Red People Management. Providing support services for local Occupational Health providers such as Gipping Occupational Health, Worksafe and Intateam.
It is with these skills I deliver training to a wide range of clients, with enthusiasm and commitment always aiming to improve the safety behaviour and ultimately the culture of any organisation. Providing training ranging from manual handling training to NEBOSH Diploma Modules, enables me to fully utilise my skills as a trainer using a full range of training media and skills.
I am involved in the local safety network through the Suffolk and North Essex Safety Group SNEOSG. Safety Groups UK is the Occupational Safety network of RoSPA.
As a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH), my aim is to develop the safety culture of businesses always using a sensible and realistic approach.
